摘要:Highlights This study investigates how curing regimes influence the behavior of biocemented underground rock masses. Biopolymer-modified enzymatic precipitation boosts stiffness (+187%) and strength (+210%) in treated rock specimens. Biocementation curing at low temperatures yields greater rock reinforcement than high-temperature curing. Biopolymer addition enhances temperature sensitivity in biocementation performance. Modulus ratio is more affected by biocementation type than by curing temperature in biocemented rocks.

摘要:Highlights Available mining infrastructure provides opportunities for seasonal heat storage. A seasonal storage facility may operate using the communicating vessel principle. Rock–water heat exchange does not significantly affect storage efficiency. Solar heat seasonally stored underground can be recovered by 38%–45%.

摘要:Highlights This study assesses the limitations of the tributary area method and Coates’ method in accurately estimating pillar stress under complex geotechnical conditions. This study identifies oversimplifications in TAM and Coates’ method, including assumptions of uniform load distribution and neglect of mining-induced stress redistribution. This study emphasizes the need for numerical model calibration and real-time monitoring to account for heterogeneous and anisotropic conditions in the Great Dyke. This study proposes integrating AI-driven predictive frameworks and hybrid modeling approaches to enhance pillar design reliability. This study highlights the significance of stress redistribution, time-dependent failure mechanisms, and geological discontinuities in pillar design. This study advocates combining empirical, numerical, and AI-based methods to optimize resource extraction while minimizing failure risks.
